ResMed Releases New Nasal Pillows
San Diego-based ResMed Corp. released the new Swift FX nasal pillows system, an interface for use in the treatment of sleep apnea.
The Swift FX represents a significant leap in comfort technology for continuous positive airway pressure users, according to Bernadette McBrearty, senior product director. It features a minimalist design and new silicone headgear, which creates a strong seal while enabling freedom of movement and various sleeping positions.
McBrearty said the chief advancement is that the headgear is now made of a soft, pliable silicone material that cushions the face. “Mask comfort is essential to CPAP compliance, and comfort is comprised of multiple factors. Proper fit, a strong seal, a soft touch and an unobtrusive appearance all have a role in the overall user experience,” she said.
